In
2128, seven interstellar species convened upon the planet Earth in the Sol system
in the wake of the successful repulsion of a threat to them all. This group,
which was comprised of the Colosians, Dalotians, Elyotes, Horganni, Humans,
Methosians, and Quartermunday, formed a compact that, a little over 270 years
later and after many different levels of interaction, became the Celestial Commonwealth
Alliance (CCA). The CCA is dedicated to the exploration of the universe through
interaction between peaceful species, and protection from species who are hostile.
The
C.C.A. is administered by an adaptation of the United Solar Federation's government
known as the Commonwealth Parliament. The Commonwealth Parliament is divided
into the following branches: House of Commons, Senate, and Celestial Court.
There are no term limits for civil service.
The
authority of the CCA amongst its member worlds is mostly arbitrary. In general, governments of each of the various species' tend to the matters which directly affect their planet or colony. The CCA Parliament
acts as an executive, legislative, and judicial overseer, ensuring that the
alliance as a whole prospers, and that lines of communication, trade, defense,
etc. are constantly maintained between CCA factions.
