Welcome to Boot Camp, Recruit.

This is the best place to begin your training, no matter what your ultimate goal is, starting at this level will give you the strongest foundation.

Boot Camp is where the grunts learn the business of keeping ships and bases running. Without the noncoms... little would get done. It isn't always the flashiest job in the Fleet, but, every division would fall on its face without us. We are the heart and soul of every ship, every base, every part of the Commonwealth Fleet.

I am Master Chief Warrant Officer Vincze Kartre, I'm a Dalotian, you'll more about my species during training.

As ranking noncommissioned officer, I will be overseeing your training. If you run into any trouble, just come by my office.

Your initial rank will be Recruit. Odds are, no-one here will bother to remember your name, so get use to answering to it. You will probably be called Recruit until you make it through to the very end of training, there is one of me and hundreds like you. So, that is the way its going to be. Got it Recruit?

Good.

Here is your rank insignia and boot camp ID badge.

Boot Camp consists of intensive training. There is some overlap between what you learn here and what you'll learn at the Academy and OTS, if you opt to go that route, but, consider the overlap a refresher, because to succeed in this Fleet, its the foundation of what you have to understand.

Every session will focus on something different, then at the end, if you manage to make it that far, you'll get a promotion to the rank of Apprentice. While you are an Apprentice, you will pick your specialty and spend time in specialty training. At the end of that period you will become an Apprentice Technician, then, and only then, are you eligible to put in for a posting request. If you are lucky, you'll get picked up by your assignment of choice. No promises though... the CO's are looking for the best of the best and positions are tight. If you are dedicated and willing to hang in there, something should come open for you though.

Okay, enough of the chit chat, let's get on with it. For each area of training you'll have a different Drill Instructor, a specialist in the field. Better do your best during training, because these Instructors have no pity and if you don't get it right, you'll have to do it again, and again, until you do. They aren't going to let any half-trained noncom get posted to a ship... so remember, these Instructors are tough, because they don't want you to get killed or end up killing your shipmates because you didn't know what you were doing.

If you get frustrated... take a break or come see me, and then come back to it... If I didn't think you could make it, well I wouldn't be sending you on.

Good luck Recruit.
